The Pumpkin Harvest Basket was my favorite part of our Pumpkin Pie Recipe Activity, which was a hit for our Thanksgiving Lesson 🧡.
These little recipe cards stimulate their brains and encourages reading, comprehension and retention while engaging in their creative activity. The boys loved rummaging around picking different items out trying to find the pumpkins.
I used
🧡 basket
🧡 green play dough
🧡 dried green pinto beans
🧡 different sized orange pompoms
🧡 green construction paper for leaves
🧡 orange piper cleaners for vines
I lined the bottom of the basket with the green dough, added the dried green pinto beans so texture, cut the constructions paper for leaves, different sized orange pompoms for the pumpkins, and I wrapped the pipe cleaners for vines around my finger to get the spiral look (i didn’t have green pipe cleaners).
DID YOU KNOW? Smaller pumpkins taste better and sweet pumpkins are used for pumpkin pie
The kids loved sorting through the different textures and guessing naming the different parts of the pumpkin.
I loved seeing the project come alive!
