Our October has been action packed full
of all things PUMPKINS, SPOOKY, SCARY, AND HALLOWEENY! I cannot BELIEVE how many Fall and Halloween activities we’ve enjoyed! I'm just soaking up all the happy moments!
Jumping right into Fall Vibes with The Annual Norman Bird Sanctuary Harvest Festival and their train rides, festival games, and wood sawing! Even though this was probably the coldest day of October the boys did not want to leave!
Eric's school hosted a family night at our local corn maze, Escobar's Farm. The boys had the maze maps helping John lead for the majority of the maze while I stepped in at the end to make it all the way through!
We were all so excited because this was the first time we accomplished Escobar's corn maze!
The long awaited Hocus Pocus 2 family movie night! It was extra special to watch since the boys and I checked out the Hocus Pocus 2 set LAST October because they filmed it in our town!
I loved watching the boys pumpkin picking at Quonset View Farm! We also picked strawberries and sunflowers in the summer there. Eric and Liam liked seeing the differences from the fields from summer to fall. They took turns pulling each other in the wagon, tested their strength picking up the pumpkins and deciphering which pumpkin was adequate for their carving requirements!
Eric was skilled enough to carve his own Jack-o-lantern, making a "HI I have friends" pumpkin while Liam had researched and prepared his perfect layout. They were a fan of the pumpkin guts until it turned into hard work scrapping them all out!
We had a Halloween afternoon!
On Eric’s early release day, we made Halloween crafts, spookyfied the house, and decorated haunted gingerbread houses and sugar cookies!
We toured the famous Jack-o-lantern Spectacular event at Rogers Williams Park Zoo! The night stroll through the luminous Jack-o-Lanterns is enchanting and mesmerizing with astounding artwork carved into the thousands of pumpkins. There was artwork for everyone to enjoy from Star Wars, timeless eras, gorgeous florals, stunning desings and of course spooky, silly, and funny Jack-O-Lantern faces!
We got extra spooky with our cemetery in the front lawn!
Of course, Smores and fire pits!
We had a witchy trunk theme for Liam's preschool Trunk or Treat and Halloween Party! Dane's preschool also hosted a harvest party with all his preschool friends and families! I love seeing the boys interacting with their friends and teachers! The kids were all smiles and enjoyed every minute of it!
Halloween was a night full of friends, fun, and sweets! Our fabulous neighborhood Halloween Parade brought all our neighbors and friends together leading us all into trick or treating! Everyone had so many clever and cute costumes! We ended the night by passing out candy to other trick or treaters! Eric, Liam and Dane had a blast! I think this is my favorite Halloween yet!
I love seeing the boys grow and accomplish more and more through the years with activities, their independence, and their conversations! Our October was everything we could have hoped for and more! The best part is seeing the boys enjoy these moments and each other's company. I'm one happy mama!
