10 Apples Up On Top Activity

We love how the characters in this book can balance the apples on their head while running through town! This is a perfect hands-on activity that engages the kids in the book, sensory, and balance! It doesn't take long to set up and it will keep them laughing for hours.

We had a Jenga set laying around, I cut out some apples and leaves with red and green construction paper and tapped it to the Jenga blocks.

As we read through the book, we tried to balance the Jenga blocks with the same number of apples as the characters. It's not as easy as it looks. I think they had more fun watching them fall over.. and over.. and over! We did make it to ten, eventually! The boys loved it!

I also encouraged my 3 year old to count them each time to practice his counting.
